FOLLOW THESE 8 RULES TO LIVE A STRESS FREE LIFE
Unfortunately we have to deal with having to get this things done and at the same time live a life free of the stress that these activities may constitute.
Follow carefully as we explore the 8 rules for a living a life free of stress.
1. DO WHAT SHOULD BE DONE. DON'T PROCRASTINATE.
Everyone has a tendency to procrastinate, especially when the task to be carried out is seemingly difficult. "I'll do it later", we would always say. Well, It's no news - and you must have heard countless times that Procrastination is the thief of time, don't be ignorant, it is also a thief of your peace. What we do not know is this - the moment you leave a thing to be done for another time, you subconsciously inform your mind that there's an activity that is left undone. This makes your mind go into a state of restlessness - just as you would feel when you are in debt.
Procrastination is the thief of time, don't be ignorant, it is also a thief of your peace. Now you know why you sometimes feel unease even though it seems there's nothing really wrong with you. So go get those tasks done and avoid the stress that comes with a compilation of undone activities.
2. SCHEDULE YOUR EVERY ACTIVITY
This is usually the most underrated way to living a life free of stress. But how? How can scheduling activities help relieve stress? Here's how - our mind is prone to compelling our bodies to carry out activity that best suits it at the moment. The mind is not concerned about what you wish to achieve in a day, it's more concerned about satisfying itself. So it's your duty to program the mind to avoid it from swaying from one activity to the other. This you can do by putting on paper what you want done at the end of the day and attaching a time factor for its accomplishment. Your mind at this point will no longer work at default mode but work according to the program you've set for it.
This helps curb the psychological and physical stress that comes from working way too much and having very little results.
3. AVOID WORRYING ABOUT YOUR LIFE
How can I not worry? There are so much bills I have to pay, I have no money to buy new clothes, I don't even have enough to eat. This may have been your contemplation over the years but permit me to ask, Have you changed your life that way?Certainly No - so why worry about your life? why engage yourself in such an unproductive thinking process?
Worrying has no benefits whatsoever, it only deprives you of good health and wellness. Many who are diagnosed of a high blood pressure are said to have stress related issues. So the moment you begin to worry about the things happening around you. Remember that a second is not added to your life by doing so. Consciously take control of your thought process. Avoid any form of negative thinking and you'll be on your way to a life free of stress.
4. LEARN TO DELEGATE. KILL THE URGE EVERYTHING YOURSELF.
Whether in the workplace, at home or in the classroom - there are usually more than one task or activity that we're very good in, and oftentimes we usually give in to the temptation of trying everything. We sometimes justify ourselves by saying that we're multitasking. What we do are oblivious about is that when we begin to engage ourselves in multiple activities, we cannot have complete focus and we are also not allowing others express themselves. (Just think about it, How would you feel when someone does what you should have done in the workplace while still doing their own work? You feel bad right? We usually don't think it that way).Lastly and most importantly, we get stressed out when we begin to do everything that could have easily been done by someone. We're often so engrossed in the joy of doing things and we don't take a moment to consider how what we do affects our health negatively.
Feel free to delegate tasks and focus on one task at a time thus avoiding stress.
5. IMPROVE YOURSELF ON ONE THING AT A TIME.
There's great power and numerous feats that have been achieved over the years by people just by having their minds fixed to one thing at a time. Scattered around the world today are books, self improvement tips, motivational podcasts and whatnot whose aim is centered around making people better. While all of this are helpful, many people have given themselves to getting better in all facets of their life all at the same time. They want to get acquainted with the principles of finances and at the same time understand the principles of marriage while building a spiritual life and learning a new skill. All this they want to achieve in one day. I call this a complete recipe for a stress filled life.It is better to have seven skills in seven years than have none after seven years of trying to find one.Don't be so obsessed with self improvement that you forget the importance of having one thing done at a time and the necessity for a stable mental health.
Focus on one thing, Strive to master that one thing, then move to the next. It is better to have seven skills in seven years than have none after seven years of trying to find one.
6. WAKE EARLY AND SLEEP EARLY
Those who live a happy, fulfilled and stress free life understand the need of waking up early to carry out important tasks of the day. Usually more than half of the day's activities are carried out when you rise two hours earlier.Infact, there are surprisingly many opportunities to cease when you wake up early in the morning. You do things with ease and proficiency in the morning and are filled with so much happiness when you're done. There's a satisfaction you get realizing that you've done what others still on bed have yet not done. It gives you an headstart. You'll also have some free time to do the things that you enjoy doing, meet with friends and experience a life free of stress and clutter.
But how can you wake early unless you sleep early and have a good night rest.
Therefore, next time you are tempted to see a little more movie or keep searching online content at late hours, remember that you are risking your early morning time for momentary gratification thus also risking having a stress free life.
7. USE MONEY WISELY
Money is undeniably one of the major contributors of stress in our world today and the reason is not far fetched - we cannot access many things that we desire without it. Though it looks physically insignificant, it has been verified over the years to affect one's emotions and stress level. There are humorously different sicknesses whose cure has no medical relation - it's just a result of lack of money for basic needs. If money has a great impact in our lives, then we need to pay attention to it. I have come to know that many times, the problem is not about the scarceness of financial resources but the inability to use it.
How do you plan your money? Do you purchase just anything that comes your way? Do you analyze your expenses to know whether or not you're on a safe side? Do you invest your money to get more money? If you don't do any of this, you may have not taken into consideration the impact of money in your life. Maybe you're still young and don't have this as a major stress factor - I'll advise that you have in mind that one day you'll be left by yourself and many will look up to you to thrive.
It is therefore vital you avoid now any future event that may cause you money related stress by learning to save, learning to invest and also getting high income skills that can provide you money. Choose to avoid this kind of stress, not by meditation - but planning.
8. TAKE SOME TIME OUT
All work and no play doesn't just make Jack just a dull boy, it also makes him a stressed boy. No matter how perpetually you work or how visionary you think you can be, never underestimate the need for times of little breaks. They are very important in improving your health and reducing stress but it's unfortunate that little emphasis is made on such matters.Find time to smile and laugh, there's nothing so beautiful and yet beneficial to the health as that.Choose to spend your leisure time with your friends and your loved ones, Do things that you love. Find time to smile and laugh, there's nothing so beautiful and yet beneficial to the health as that.
There's no harm in having fun, your reputation is not at stake by doing so - you're only expressing maturity by simplifying your life.
Do all within your power to keep yourself stress free. The quality of your life definitely depends on it.
